What data we collect and why
We only collect personal data that we need for the purposes below. The list summarises the main categories, purposes, and legal bases under GDPR Article 6.
- Website visits & cookies (analytics): With your consent (cookie banner), we may use Google Analytics to collect pseudonymous usage data (e.g. pages viewed, device type). Legal basis: consent (you may withdraw consent at any time). Without consent, we only use essential cookies as described below.
- Phone calls: If you call us, we may process your phone number and any details you give (e.g. name, preferred time) to handle your enquiry or booking. We do not routinely record calls. Legal basis: performance of a contract / steps prior to a contract, and our legitimate interests in running the business and responding to customers.
- Email: If you email us, we process your email address and message content to reply. Legal basis: legitimate interests (responding to enquiries) and, where relevant, contract.
- In the salon: We may process limited personal data needed to provide nail and beauty services (e.g. name if you give it, contact details, treatment preferences, payment-related information handled by our payment provider at point of sale). Legal basis: performance of a contract and legitimate interests in operating a safe, professional salon.
- Online booking: When you use our online booking service at book.lesliequigleybeauty.ie, you provide details such as name, contact information, and appointment preferences. That processing is governed by notices on the booking service and this policy. We use the data to manage appointments and communicate about your booking. Legal basis: performance of a contract and, where applicable, legitimate interests. Payment card data, if collected, is processed by our payment service provider; we do not store your full card details on our salon systems.
- WhatsApp & messaging: If you contact us via WhatsApp or similar apps, your messages and profile information available to us are processed by the relevant provider (e.g. WhatsApp Ireland Limited / Meta) under their terms and privacy policy. We use such messages only to respond to you and manage enquiries or bookings. Legal basis: legitimate interests (responding to you) and, where you book a service, contract. See Meta’s privacy information: WhatsApp Privacy Policy and Meta Privacy Policy.
- Social media: If you interact with our pages on social platforms, those platforms process your data under their own policies. We may see your public profile information and messages you send us there. Legal basis: legitimate interests in engaging with customers and promoting our business.
